Hello!
Thanks for your interest in Coding Kickstart. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach me at scampa@stanford.edu.
I am a rising junior at Stanford University, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Education. My passion for coding was first sparked when I was in middle school and I believe it is the perfect time to start learning computer science. My mission is to bring the joy of coding to students who may not expect to find it in CS.
Three years ago, I ran my first Java programming camp out of my kitchen. Last summer I worked as an instructor at a national technology camp at their site in Palo Alto, teaching Javascript and game design. Both have fueled my love of teaching and of working with middle-school-aged students. I am so excited to be able to offer these introductory Java classes in August.
The curriculum will be relaxed and fun, and will give students a kickstart on material they’ll cover in high school AP Computer Science. A week goes by very quickly but I’ve found that even by the end of the first day, students are excited about building their first program and to discover what else they can create with what they’ve learned.
I hope to see you this summer!
Best,
Stephanie
